Such Thunderstorm, a calligraphy by Barbara Bash

enlarge

These lines are excerpted from Trungpa Rinpoche's will, which you can read here:
CTR's Spiritual will

Barbara executes the calligraphy;
music and video by Steve Gorn

Here is a wonderful opportunity to remember—and be haunted by—Trungpa Rinpoche's parting words to his students.

Calligraphed for the 20th anniversary of Trungpa Rinpoche's parinirvana by Barbara Bash, these limited-edition 17" x 22" archival prints are perfect for your home or local center. Barbara has donated this beautiful work as a combined fundraiser for the Chögyam Trungpa Legacy Project and the Chronicles of CTR. We would like to thank Barbara for her generosity.

Please select either unsigned or signed by the artist.

Prices include shipping and handling for North American orders. Overseas shipping upon request, price to be determined. (Discounts apply for orders picked up in Halifax.)

This is a limited edition of one hundred 17" x 22" archival giclée prints, including twenty five signed by the artist. Unsigned prints will be shipped immediately. Signed prints will be shipped after Shambhala Day 2008 (February 7).

The giclée process
(How these prints are made)

Giclée printing is now the printing method of choice for fine art reproduction by artists the world over. These prints are produced by Halifax's own Image House, one of the finest giclée print houses in North America.

The materials. Non-toxic water-based archival inks and 100% cotton acid-free archival paper.

The process. Each piece is carefully hand mounted onto a drum that rotates while a fine stream of ink—more than four million droplets per second—is sprayed onto archival art paper. With the advent of giclée, the art of fine art printing has become more precise.

The results. The giclée process captures every nuance to produce an archival reproduction as close to the original as is possible.

The word giclée (pronounced zhee-clay) is from the French word le gicleur, meaning nozzle.
