To the Noble Sangha,
Don Donaghy passed away, after a long and difficult illness, early on Wednesday, July 23. Friends who were with him said his passing was peaceful and very sweet.
Maggie, Halona and Mahala Donaghy and Steve Harley, Don's son, would like to express their appreciation for all of the friends who have been so kind in visiting Don and in helping with his passing.

Passing through Boulder last week, and eager to visit the Shambhala Center...I went for the Friday evening meditation, and--through a misunderstanding--found myself at Don Donaghy's funeral. By the time I realized where I was, it felt disrespectful to leave, and so (I do hope this isn't troubling to anyone) I stayed for the entire ceremony. Words can't express how moved I was by the tributes of Don's family and friends. I came away knowing that I am forever touched by the spirit of this unique, free-spirited, courageous, devoted,(and no doubt sometimes maddening!)man. And as my own mother is currently suffering from the same sort of long and difficult illness, it was even more moving and inspiring for me to witness how loved he was, through it all, and how much of his essence remained. With apologies for my having stumbled in...and with gratitude to Don Donaghy, his family, and friends.
