Journey to Taksang

In 1968, Trungpa Rinpoche left the United Kingdom for the first time since he arrived there in 1963. He traveled to Bhutan where he entered into retreat at Taksang, a sacred cave where Padmasambhava once practiced. He was accompanied on his travels by two Western students: Richard Arthure and Dan Russell. Here are Richard's recollections of the journey, and Dan Russell's photos (reposted from 2008).
