I've always been delighted to cross paths here and there in my life with Brian. His sincerity was a beacon, and the world seems darker without it. In recent years, he called me sometimes at the KGNU radio station where I was DJ-ing the early early music show from 3-5:30 on Fridays to express appreciation for what I had been playing, and to say hello. I enjoyed those conversations very much! At the end of his calls, he always said, "Be well," and I wished him the same. Wherever you are, Brian, be well. I feel your beacon is still shining.
