I first met Norm while living at the Old Townhouse at the corner of Broadway and Grandview around 1972. We were both newcomers --I had just moved from California and Norm as I recall had been an accountant for Rolling Stone magazine. When he moved in, he had long flowing hair and was dressed in white. He asked me to cut his hair and I obliged. No matter what he wore, he always had an air of impeccability and elegance about him. As I recall, he started handling the Old Townhouse’s accounting, and I started running the kitchen. More recently, Norm handled Jim’s retirement accounts for the past 20 years. He was always meticulous and profoundly trustworthy, and we were saddened to lose both his friendship and his uncompromising integrity.
