Jack and Chris hosted me and my partner at the time to a tea ceremony which was actually tea and a multi-course meal. This was in their house in NE Kyoto in the mid 90s. The fire area was sunken into the floor. Everything was set to complete perfection and Chris and Jack quietly served us one dish after another.
