Donorbox’s new integration with Rennaisance Charitable and The Giving Block has made it easy for Chronicles/Ocean to accept stock or crypto donations.
For stock donations
- First go to the Donation page on Chronicles or Ocean and select “Crypto or Stock” as shown in the illustration below.
- Select the ticker symbol and stock name.
- Enter the amount you would like to give.
- Enter your contact info and broker details. Once donated, stock donations will be processed and liquidated through the Rennaisance Charitable Donor Advised Fund.
Once liquidated (usually within 5-10 business days), you will receive a donation receipt, and Chronicles/Ocean will receive a check for the market value of the stock. Because Rennaisance Charitable is the sponsoring charity for both crypto and stock donations through Donorbox, their information will be listed on the receipt.
For Crypto donations
- Start by going to the Donation page on Chronicles or Ocean and select “Crypto or Stock” as shown in the illustration above.
- Select your crypto type and donation amount.
- Choose whether you’d like to donate anonymously or include your personal information. You can receive a tax-compliant receipt either way.
- Then you will receive a QR code and hex code, which you can either scan or copy to donate from the crypto wallet of your choice.
- From there, the crypto donation goes into Renaissance Charitable’s wallet to be confirmed and then be liquidated.
Once liquidated you will receive an tax-compliant receipt and Chronicles/Ocean will receive the cash value of the donation. Because Rennaisance Charitable is the sponsoring charity for both crypto and stock donations through Donorbox, their information will be listed on the receipt.
