The Vidyadhara Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche was one of the most brilliant masters of Tibetan Buddhism in the twentieth century. Throughout his life, he embodied the qualities of dignity, gentleness, and fearlessness, bringing the essence of the Buddha’s teachings directly into the modern world and the lives of his Western students. Renowned for his poetry, art, scholarship and meditative realization, he transformed and energized the Buddhist landscape in America with his vision of enlightened society and message of basic goodness. For the benefit of others, he dedicated his life to teaching and to bringing the teachings to life in the hearts of his students. Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche played a crucial role in transplanting the complete Buddhadharma in the West. His mark on contemporary Buddhism is indelible.

Born in Rumtek in 1965, The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche was trained in the Kagyu and Nyingma traditions by His Holiness the 16th Karmapa, His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso, and others. Today he is well known as one of the foremost Nyingma and Kagyu scholars of his generation, and as a prominent and well respected dharma teacher and guide. His realms of activity include: Nitartha Institute, Nalandabodhi, and the Kamalashila Institute. Rinpoche is the author of Penetrating Wisdom, and Wild Awakening.
