I never met the Vidyadhara in this life, yet I know the brilliance of his kindness through his students, and the clarity and power of his teachings through the books of his collected talks. Years ago I used to read aloud from the Profound Treasury volumes while soaking in the bathtub, preaching dharma to any hungry ghost who happened by, laughing out loud at his humor as it jumped off the page. I don't think Chögyam Trungpa was much more treacly devotion so I will just say that my life would have been very different and much depleted without him. Somehow, I feel a connection with him that is as real as it is evanescent.

Walter hitchhiked from Philly to Boulder in 1974. He seems confused about what happened after that.
