Supplication to Chogyam Trungpa to Remain

Lord and master,
Friend of our hearts’ desire,
We call upon you to be near.

In the nirmanakaya, you appeared in our world
Proclaiming the Lion’s Roar
That every mind state is workable,
Every situation an expression of awakening.
In the sambhogakaya, you promised to abide,
From the unseen realms to haunt us,
As the unceasing thunderstorm of your being.
In the dharmakaya, you are ever immovable and unchanging
As the openness and brilliance of awareness itself.

As samsara grows darker,
Please come close to us.
As the true meaning
Of your own dharma sinks out of sight
And even those who loved you are forgetting,
In this hour of our anguished need,
Please be with us.

Bedevil us with your ungraspable presence;
Hound us with your relentless love;
Disrupt our expectations;
Cut through our hope and fear;
Spare nothing in bringing us home.

Be our guide and companion on the path;
Protect us from the wiles and deceptions of samsara;
Teach us to fly in the space of the immeasurable expanse;
Abide as our very essence;
Let our minds dissolve into yours.

As an offering for the 20th anniversary of the Vidyadhara’s pasing, Reggie has selected the following supplication, which is a regular part of Dhyanasangha liturgy.
