My condolences to Harold's family and students. I knew Harold from my first job out of Cooper Union at Davis, Brody and Associates, where Harold was one of the associates. He was in charge of the high rise UDC Harlem River Park houses-built. I recall his pipe smoking and tough demeanor. I remember he was in charge of overseeing that employees got back from lunch on time. In fact, he was instrumental in getting me fired, although it all worked out ok in the end. I recall sensing that although successful, he was really uncomfortable with his role, so I was not 100% surprised by his transformation-although almost unprecedented for a successful architect to take such a course
