Michael Chender started studying with Trungpa Rinpoche in 1970, and is a senior teacher and meditation instructor in the Buddhist and Shambhala streams of Trungpa Rinpoche’s teachings. He has also been a student of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche since the late 1990s. He was the founder of the Shambhala Institute for Authentic Leadership (now ALIA), and recently retired after a long career in the information business. He lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, a bucolic seaside resort on the far western Mediterranean.
