A 10-week online class

Mondays, February 22, 2021 – April 26, 2021

7pm – 9pm

This course will dive into the text and spiritual instructions of The Tibetan Book of the Dead itself, engaging Francesca Fremantle’s guiding chapters in Luminous Emptiness on the text, and the commentary on the text by Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche in The Tibetan Book of the Dead. Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche will present a keynote address at the first class. We will later in the class listen to a recording of Trungpa Rinpoche advising on being with the dying. We will also include sessions on the practical details and considerations around dying, whether approaching one’s own death or the death of others.  See the class schedule of topics and speakers below.

This is the second series of classes engaging the book Luminous Emptiness: Understanding The Tibetan Book of the Dead, by Francesca Fremantle. The first course covered the first ten chapters of the book, which laid a foundation of Buddhist understanding and wisdom with which to approach The Tibetan Book of the Dead. This second course is open to everyone, including those who did not take the Fall, 2020 course. We do recommend that participants who did not take the Fall course be familiar with the themes covered in the first ten chapters of Luminous Emptiness, if possible, in preparation.

This class is open to everyone.

Cost: $75
