The Parinirvana of Kyabje Mindrolling Trichen

Prominent teachers and thousands of devoted Tibetan and Western students gathered and practiced at Mindrolling Monastery in India to pay respects to His Holiness Mindrolling Trichen Rinpoche, who passed into parinirvana in early February 2008. As one of the last great Tibetan masters of his generation, His Holiness’s passing was an important and poignant event for the Tibetan community, and for dharma practitioners around the world.

Trungpa Rinpoche held Mindrolling Rinpoche in the highest regard. Many of Trungpa Rinpoche’s students have developed a strong connection to the Mindrolling lineage through devotion to His Holiness’s daughter, the well-loved and brilliant dharma teacher, Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche.

Intensive practice continued at Mindrolling Monastery for fifty days following His Holiness’s parinirvana. Visit Mindrolling.org for photographs and descriptions of the practices, visiting teachers, and auspicious signs, including a circular rainbow around the sun.
